Mackenzie Proud

She/Her

Mackenzie started practicing yoga as a physical practice but quickly recognized the space it provided to connect with her breath and slow down her stream of anxious thoughts. She has now found that the true work is listening to her own body, setting the ego aside and leaning into a practice that looks different every day.

Mackenzie encourages her students on this same journey, leaning in to self compassion by listening to their body and connecting with their breath. Her classes are structured with an anatomical and alignment focus, but her favorite part of teaching is to empower her students to be their own guides on the mat. Classes offer a lot of options, modifications and props so each student can find what feels good in their body, whatever that looks like on each day.

Mackenzie lives in Ridgewood with her partner, outside of the studio she works in corporate sustainability, for fun you can find her meeting with her book club, cuddling with her cat and enjoying time in nature.
